PE KS4 Studies

In addition, to core PE studied throughout Years 7-11, at KS4 there is the option to study PE as a subject. There are two options to consider:
Course Content
GCSE PE
The GCSE PE Course covers the following areas:
Physical factors affecting performance Applied anatomy
Physiology
Sociocultural issues
Sports psychology
Health fitness and wellbeing
The course also couples classroom studies with physical training. There is practical assessment in their three strongest sports and written coursework assessment completing a written NEA analysing and evaluating a sporting performance.
Sports Studies
OCR Cambridge National in Sport Science helps students appreciate how sport science underpins sport at all levels. The course covers:
- anatomy
- physiology
- injury prevention
- improving personal fitness through appropriate training and diet
- role of psychology in improving performance.
